Boguslawa (Bogusia) Badon was born in Wroclaw, Poland where she initially studied to become a physical education instructor. However, she then decided that she wanted to combine her interest in human physiology with her love of fitness and extended her training in the direction of rehabilitation. After moving to the United States, she received her certification in physical therapy in Connecticut and Massachusetts and founded Farmington Valley Physical Therapy. Bogusia's vision of patient care is heavily influenced by the European sanatorium, an establishment that provides therapy combined with a regimen (of rest, diet, and exercise) for treatment or rehabilitation.
Bogusia began her Somatics training at Somatic Systems Institute in 2004, and in late 2005, FVPT underwent a transformation: The Unionville office moved to a 4,000 square foot facility with two gyms, private treatment rooms, and direct access to the Farmington River Valley Running/Bike Path. The FVPT Wellness Program was launched in 2006 and now hosts seminars, workshops, a Running Injury Prevention & Recovery program, as well as group rehabilitation and fitness classes.
Bogusia currently has over 20 years of experience treating patients both in Europe and the United States in the nursing home setting, schools, and in her clinics. She is skilled in many modalities of rehabilitation in addition to Clinical Somatic Education and is a USA Track & Field Certified Running Coach.
