Somatics 101
Monday Evenings, 5:30-6:30, 8 Weeks, Starts Sept 24
This series is comprised of 8 individual lessons, teaching you to
release unconsciously held muscles beginning at the core of the body
out to the periphery. You will also learn the "Daily Somatic Essentials", a sequence of exercises that
can be done anytime, anywhere, in as little as 5 minutes, in order to maintain better flexibility, coordination,
and balance, resulting in a decrease of the aches and pains commonly
attributed to injury and aging. Because this is a progressive class, please make
every effort to attend all the classes. Missed classes can be made up at a later time, as we re-run this class regularly. $90 per 8 class card, $14 per class. September 24-November 12. Instructor: Kim Saumell.
Somatic Exercise Weekly Drop-In Class
Wednesday Evenings, 5:30-6:30, Sept 26 - Dec 19 Each week we will explore specific areas in-depth, expand and deepen your practice, learn to "improvise" and target your specific needs. We will also deepen and expand your mastery of individual movements that you might have learned before. Great for experienced students, but all are welcome and will benefit. $90 per 8 class card, $14 per class. Instructor: Jon Aronstein.
Somatics 101 One Day Workshop

one day version of the Somatics 101 class, taught by the Institutes
director, Steven Aronstein. A great way for those who can't make it to
8 weeks in a row to learn the whole sequence for basic neuromuscular
maintenance. If you have done the 8 weeks, this is a great way to see
how it all fits together and enjoy deepening your mastery of these
exercises. One hour Lunch break. $75 pre-paid, $80 day of. Somatic Exercises For the Legs and Hip Joints
Saturday Nov 10, 1-4
Hip pain, knee pain, high arches, flat feet, and other lower body conditions are caused by movement dysfunctions of the lower body and how its movement coordinates with the whole body. Learn ways to improve functioning and decrease pain in the legs and hips. Also great for dancers, athletes, golfers, martial artists, body workers etc. One hour lunch break. Explore the relaxing and meditative benefits of Somatic Exercises while learning a whole body routine. Great for adding some calm and relaxation to your daily life and other practices. Emphasis on breath and exploring the huge benefits of slow and simple. $75.
