Mistakes in logos

I'm working on designing logos for several brands, and I'm facing a challenge. I often hear that when designing a logo, it's important to avoid some mistakes for it to be successful and memorable. However, I'm not always sure I have a proper understanding of what exactly is a mistake and what is an acceptable option. For example, is it always a good idea to keep it simple?

The first mistake is to overcomplicate the design. When a logo consists of many small details, it becomes difficult to see and remember. A logo should be simple and easy to reproduce, especially if it is used in different sizes. The second mistake is following trends. Many designers often create logos based on trendy styles that may become outdated in a couple of years. This can make the logo irrelevant, in which case you will need to update it. To avoid this, it is important to look into the concept of evergreen logo design, which is an approach that creates a logo that can remain relevant in the long run, regardless of temporary trends. This style is suitable for brands that want to maintain their identity and not be afraid of design changes that may occur in the future. Logos created with this approach are simple, yet expressive and versatile, allowing them to work across different scales and platforms.

This is a good question, I think that creating a logo is a process where you have to find a balance between simplicity and originality. It is important that the logo is clear and easy to remember, but at the same time, you should not forget that it should stand out from the competition. Therefore, it is worth choosing something that will be unique and not like other brands.
