We have been huge fans of this pillow for almost 20 years. They are meant for any body type. They can help people in chronic pain or discomfort feel better, or anyone sleep sounder.
We see these pillows as a perfect compliment to Somatics, as they provide the ideal sleeping surface, so your body maintains the alignment and muscular health you achieved. The most relaxed, pain-free person in the world would likely be tense if they were injured each night, and that is in effect what many normal pillows do.
Most pillows are simply a surface that you rest your head on, and they are either too tall or too short, too soft or too firm. If you sleep on your back, they push your head up, over time training your body to lose its healthy cervical curve, creating headaches, neck and jaw tension, slouched posture, or a receding chin and jaw. If you sleep on your side, most pillows do not provide enough support to maintain a straight neck and spine; your head may droop down, causing over-stretch, tension and aches along the neck or all the way down the sides and spine, and even postural asymmetries resembling scoliosis.
Other so-called cervical pillows, neck rolls, and therapeutic devices are typically "overly therapeutic" — providing a quick relief that leads to discomfort again later, or they use synthetic materials that create problems with temperature, allergies, or off-gassing. The Linear Gravity Pillow is carefully shaped and supported to actually provide just the right amounts of support under your neck and your head when you sleep on your back, to maintain the proper, healthy cervical curve — and there are even two different sized neck rolls for people of different heights. For side sleepers, the side wings of the pillow are designed to provide the right amount of support for healthy alignment of the head, neck, and spine.
On top of all that, they are built smart and safe, with no off-gassing and such durability that some of us have slept on the same one for 10 years.

We are experts on this pillow, and we have found with just a little bit of information, you can find the pillow that’s right for you. Once you do, your pillow will probably be your friend for life.
Pillow Size
For the most part, Pillow Size for the Linear Gravity Pillow is not about person size: The size of these pillows generally indicates the pillow case into which they will fit. The Medium pillow is the size that fits in a standard pillow case — the kind of pillow case people use on Queen-, Full-, or Twin-sized beds.
The Large pillow is specifically sized for the oversized pillow cases used on King-sized beds. The neck roll and neck support areas of the Large pillow have the same height and thickness as the Medium pillow; the only difference is that the sides of the Large pillow are wider to fill out the greater width of King-sized pillow case.
The size of these pillows generally indicates the pillow case into which they will fit. The Medium pillow is the size that fits in a standard pillow case — the kind of pillow case people use on Queen-, Full-, or Twin-sized beds.
The Small pillow is the one size where the pillow size actually does indicate person size more so than pillow case size. The Small pillow is narrower and thinner than the Medium or Large pillows. It is intended for use a "children’s" pillow or a travel pillow (it’s smaller enough to make it easier to stuff this one in a suitcase). We have also found that this pillow size is more comfortable for some women who are shorter in height or have petite frames.
A standard-sized pillow case will be too big for the Small pillow, so the pillow will swim around in it a bit. (For those of us who need the Small pillow, if you are worried about how it looks on your bed, we suggest just hiding underneath the other pillows on your bed.) You'll find it's a small price to pay for having just the right fit to enjoy the benefits of these one-of-kind, wonderful pillows!
Pillow Firmness
Pillow Firmness is really where you can fine-tune your pillow choice for maximum comfort. You have a choice between Regular pillow firmness or Extra-Firm. Think of the Extra-Firm pillow as a way to kind of “:increase the size”: of the pillow. This enables you to make a Small pillow effectively a bit bigger, by choosing an Small Extra-Firm; or a Medium pillow a bit smaller, by choosing a Medium Regular instead of a Medium Extra-Firm.
For example, remember that the goal of the pillow when you sleep on your side is to give you adequate support to keep your neck and spine straight and to not “scrunch” your shoulder. So, if you are larger in size, have broader shoulders, or have found that your head droops a bit with the regular pillow, you will probably want the Extra-Firm pillow.
On the other hand, say you have a small frame, but the Small sized pillow is a little too big (for example, your head and neck slump down when you sleep on your side) and the Medium pillow is to big (it pushes your head up too high when you sleep on your side, or it arches your neck up too high when you sleep on your back). In this case, you might choose a Small Extra-Firm pillow.
What the Heck is a Deluxe Neck Roll?
The “Deluxe” or “Firm” Neck Roll may seem confusing. It is not quite the same as an Extra-Firm pillow. Even though some people will use these pillows for years, some people wanted the pillows to last even longer, and to maintain their firmness for longer. So, the Linear Gravity Pillow designers began producing a model with Regular firmness, but with extra fibrous structure within the neck roll area of the pillow to preserve its density longer. In other words, if you want a Regular firmness pillow, but would like the neck roll to last extra long, order a pillow of whichever size is appropriate for you and your pillow case, with a Deluxe neck roll (also called a Firm neck roll). On the other hand (because the extra fiber in the Deluxe neck roll might make it feel a little bit firmer), say you are ordering a Medium size pillow but you also might be small enough for Small size pillow; you may want get the Medium size Regular firmness pillow rather than a Medium size with Deluxe neck roll.
If any of this is confusing, or if you have any other questions about what size and firmness is right for you, please don’t get intimidated... Just contact us and we’ll be glad to help!
Sleeping on almost any new pillow can be strange for your body at first; sometimes even the most comfortable items can feel odd until you get used to them. For some people, this pillow may take a few nights to get used to, but then become something most people can't live without.
