The Space
A quick drive (or bus ride) away from downtown Northampton, this open floor plan studio includes a living room area with large gas fireplace, a sleeping area with a double bed and dressers, a sweet little studio kitchen, a study area, an infrequently shared bathroom with a shower, laundry facilities, and a fenced in yard available for pups. Off Street Parking. Near Bus Route and two blocks from Florence Center, Cooper's grocery and Miss Flo's Diner (no longer open for supper, alas).
The back of the house looks out over a huge field, and Northampton's new Community Garden is springing up down the road. There's wi-fi, but no TV. Peepers in the spring and a resident owl in the tree. 2 dogs, who are quite friendly and welcome visitors on one, two, three or four legs.
The entrance is a little funky, through the garage--that way you won't have to deal with the 90 pound retriever wanting to kiss you, and can be independent of the house.
They are some cooking tools in the kitchen, and place settings for four, and we can find what you need in the main house.
The main house, of which this is a part, was built in 1830 and so has the creaks and groans and whatever comes with age. I love it, but you may not!
Some guests have been surprised that the studio is on the first floor, with windows looking out front and back: people walking by, me mowing the lawn, dogs running and romping in the yard.
Other Things to Note
The basic supplies are included in the bathroom: shampoo, toothpaste, soap etc. Toilet paper is replenished regularly.
