Somatic Systems, Inc. Launches Military Service Appreciation Program

NORTHAMPTON, MA — (Marketwire - October 31, 2008) — Somatic Systems, Inc. (SMAS - news) is pleased to announce plans that they have established a Military Service Appreciation Program. The new program will allow service members and their families to obtain the groundbreaking pain management treatments of Clinical Somatics at a significant discount.

Individuals eligible for the Military Service Appreciation Program will be able to receive discounted services at any of Somatic Systems' clinic locations and approved franchises. Eligible individuals include active duty military personnel, retirees, veterans, reserves, National Guard personnel, Department of Defense employees, and dependents of these populations as well.

Somatic Systems also announced that they now have representatives collaborating and working directly with US military Healthcare Services and the Department of Defense to complete acceptance as a provider of high quality, cost effective, accessible health care services to the military population within the military system.

Recently, Somatic Systems disclosed that it was spending the month of October meeting with military officials to obtain contracts and provide special pain care services for US military hospitals and the Veterans Administration. The company also announced that it was preparing to rollout multiple clinics at military base locations throughout the US, to provide easy access to Clinical Somatics services at a time when the US military is strongly seeking satisfactory pain treatment solutions such as Clinical Somatics.

Nearly 26 million living Americans have served in the military, and pain is the most common symptom and cause of disability amongst veterans, with more than 40% of returning service members reporting musculoskeletal pain-related problems and symptoms. In the face of this, military officials, medical authorities, and government officials have reported frustration that the military does not yet have a satisfactory pain care program for their population.

Somatic Systems' Military Service Appreciation Program, along with its other meetings and initiatives, firmly establishes providing much needed pain care for the nation's military members and families as a primary mission of the company.
