Somatic Systems, Inc. Featured in Recent Yoga Magazine Article

NORTHAMPTON, MA — (Marketwire - February 22, 2007) — Somatic Systems, Inc. (SMAS - news) was featured in the January 2007 issue of Louisiana Homes and Gardens, a publication with a circulation rate of 70,000 covering all of Southern Louisiana, including New Orleans.

The article touts the resounding success that Somatic Systems students have had in treating pain with Clinical Somatics. Yoga teachers have found that their Yoga clientele and fitness clients in general have been extremely receptive to Somatics as an aid to their practice and a way to treat chronic pain and injury.

Clinical Somatic Education, while relieving chronic muscle tension and its associated symptoms of pain, decreased functioning, headaches, scoliosis, and more, also gives clients greater control of muscles, which can heighten any athletic or physical performance, including Yoga.

"We have watched Yoga practitioners flock to Somatics for the benefits it offers," stated Somatic Systems, Inc. Chairman and CEO Steven Aronstein. "With the overlap between Somatics and the hugely expanding Yoga, fitness, and wellness markets, the road to increased market share for Somatics is clear as Somatic Systems expands its national presence of clinics, classes, and products."

This article highlights the ways in which Somatic Systems is targeting the thriving Yoga, wellness, and fitness markets with great success. Yoga is quickly becoming one of the most popular fitness and relaxation techniques and is an integral part of the wellness trend in the United States. According to a 2003 Harris Interactive Services Bureau survey, more than half the general population, or 109.7 million people, have at least a casual interest in the practice of Yoga. In the US, the number of fitness facilities offering yoga has gone up from 31% in 1996 to 85% in 2002. More and more fitness facilities are offering services such as Yoga, Pilates, and other wellness products with similar markets to Somatics.
