Steven Aronstein is the founding Director and President of the Somatic Systems Institute. A certified Clinical Somatic Educator trained in the second program ever conducted, he has been in practice in Western Massachusetts and the Northeast for 14 years. I was drawn to Clinical Somatics as a way of sharing the gift of physical freedom with others who are frustrated by the limitations caused by health problems. After an accident that left her severely incapacitated, Mary Ann discovered the healing power of Clinical Somatic Education. As a result of being restored to health by this wonderful modality, she has become devoted to bringing this "new" education to as many people as possible. Laura Gates is a Certified Clinical Somatic Educator (CSE) practitioner living in New York City. The teaches and works with clients regularly in northern AL and often in Norway as well. Carrie has been studying and practicing dance, yoga, and movement awareness techniques for the past 25 years. She received a BFA in modern dance performance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and then moved to New York to pursue a professional dance career. While living in New York City, in addition to dancing and performing she began working as a lighting designer and technician for dance and off-Broadway theatre. Boguslawa (Bogusia) Badon was born in Wroclaw, Poland where she initially studied to become a physical education instructor. However, she then decided that she wanted to combine her interest in human physiology with her love of fitness and extended her training in the direction of rehabilitation. After moving to the United States, she received her certification in physical therapy in Connecticut and Massachusetts and founded Farmington Valley Physical Therapy. As a somatic therapist and educator, I bring together a variety of formal education, specific bodywork training, and life experiences in the area of healing arts. I am a licensed massage therapist in both Texas and Oregon, with over 1400 hours in my field, and have been practicing as a full-time professional since 1987.
