My work developed out of a passion to help empower others to create greater wellness within themselves and their communities. It has been recognized that wellness involves working through multiple dimensions (such as the body, mind, emotions, being, relationships, and the environment), and to be present with the truths that the integration of them holds for each person. Somatic Well-Being involves tapping into one's awareness and learning to become more skillful in working with ourselves. Read more about Kim Kies

I was drawn to Clinical Somatics as a way of sharing the gift of physical freedom with others who are frustrated by the limitations caused by health problems. Having been injured as a child, I spent the majority of my childhood and young adulthood trapped by my condition and limited in the activities I wanted to pursue. I spent a decade looking for a solution, trying numerous different modalities in both mainstream and alternative medicine. Read more about Patrick Flanagan

Ily Shofestall graduated from the Florida School of massage in 1984 and over the next 30 years it became her mission to improve the quality of life for those who suffer from unnecessary chronic pain. Ily's approach is quite eclectic, greatly influenced by Dr. Raymond Nimmo and his Receptor-Tonus Technique (a man way before his time), Dr. Janet Travell, a pioneer in Myofacial Release and Thomas Hanna a Somatic Educator. These three people shape the lens through which Ily looks at her clients. Read more about Ily Shofestall

As my life, body experiences and body needs have shifted throughout the years, my training has delved deeper to include Therapeutic Yoga, movement focused childbirth education, Somatics and Trauma-Informed Resilience Practices.
My personal practice and approach to teaching has changed over the years as well. I’ve slowed down – which allows me to turn off the auto-pilot switch and learn to pause, notice and listen in new ways. The continual practice helps me notice when I push too hard and helps me remember that there’s strength in softness. Read more about Amy LePage
