Schedule Details

Somatic Systems Institute's Professional Training Program is conducted in three semesters. The first semester is more than 150 hours in length, over two 9-day "weeks"; the second and third semesters follow a similar schedule. The three-semester course consists of 500 hours of training over approximately 24 months. Class sizes are carefully limited to provide personalized, close supervision and interaction between students & faculty, maintaining an intimate student to teacher ratio (ranging from 10:1 to 4:1).

Class hours are generally 9:00 AM to between 5:00 and 7:00 PM, with 1- to 2-hour lunch breaks; there are occasional evening meetings (following a dinner break) before 9:00 PM. In developing the intensive modular training courses, great care has been taken to create a class schedule which allows for a comfortable, successful learning experience.

Tuition and Fees

Full tuition for the first semester is $5,250. However, see the schedule below for early application and enrollment deadlines that will qualify you for significant savings on tuition, as well as discounted application fees. This is a special extra training class we are offering and space in the program is limited, so if you are interested, we encourage you to apply as early as possible.

Apply by... Admissions Category Application Fee Tuition Price
February 15, 2016 Early Action $25 $4,750

SAVE $500!

March 31, 2017 Standard Action $50 $5,050

Save $200

After March 31, 2017 Rolling Admissions $65 $5,250

Tuition for the second and third semesters is $3,895 each. You do not have to pay for the entire training program upfront: Tuition for a semester is only due shortly before that semester begins, thus spreading the entire tuition cost over a 2-3 year time period. Furthermore, enrolling in or attending one semester does not obligate you to the remaining semesters.

  Special $500 Savings!

Apply & enroll Early Action and not only save $25 on your application fee as always
— but also receive preferred status priority admissions and a $500 discount off tuition price.

Application Deadlines

Date due Deadline Fee Benefits
By February 15, 2016 Early Action $25
After February 15, but before March 31, 2017 Standard Application $50
After March 31, 2017 $65

Note that applying by one of the early deadlines does not obligate you to enroll or pay early: It simply enables you to reserve your place in this limited availability class if you want it, and enables you to take advantage of substantially discounted tuition rates should you chose to enroll.

There may be several smaller administrative fees that apply to your training. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Regarding late applications: We absolutely encourage you to submit your application, even if you have missed regular deadlines. Openings do occur unexpectedly, and application pools vary from year to year.

A Note About Our Rolling Admissions Policy

Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. Once an applicant is deemed qualified for the training program, priority of applicant acceptance will be determined by the dates their applications were received.

This does not mean, however, that submissions received after the deadline dates (listed in section above) will be discarded. In instances where an accepted candidate chooses to defer admission until the following academic year, the open slot will be filled by the most eligible of all remaining candidates, regardless of their application date.

As with any early decision process, and because space in the class is limited, it is highly recommended that all necessary materials be submitted as soon as possible.
