The meeting place for somatics, bodywork, movement & health.

The Somatics Center is an online resource center & community center for the many fields, methods, and practices of somatics — neuromuscular re-education, bodywork, movement education, and more.

The Somatics Center is a resource for you: A place to learn more about somatics, health care, and education if you are a layperson. You can find out more about somatics and its groundbreaking methods of pain-relief, fitness, flexiblity, movement education, and athletic performance enhancement — wether you are just a person with the occasional aches & pains or who wants to be more flexible; someone with severe chronic pain; an aspring or professional athlete oor dancer; an actor wanting to improve her/his body; someone who sits at a computer, desk, or easel and suffers discomfort or even something more severe like repetitive stress injuries; or a person simply interested in health, physiolgy, psychology, or human potential.

The Somatics Center is also your site if you are a professional: A resource and meeting place for somatics practitioners, bodyworkers, doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors, and other health care professionals, therapists, educators, athletes, trainers, movement professionals.

The Somatics Center features introductions & guides to many fields of somatics, such as Clinical Somatic Education and the work of Thomas Hanna. We are a source of information and professional expertise — somatics professionals can provide answers to your general inquiries as well as more advanced information about somatics, techniques, practitioners, or training; and we provide resources guides and links to practioners and other institutions. We also are home to messages boards for discussions among and between professionals and laypeople.
