Upcoming Somatics Training Class Schedule

Weekend Training Classes in NYC, Starting September 2012

This Modular Training program is a unique opportunity. Students complete the first Semester's full 150 hours in only 4 long weekends — enabling students to begin working with clients using their first full level of skills starting only one month after they began. Normally this requires that students participate in a full-time version of the program.

This is an exciting way for busy professionals to enhance their practices without disruption, and for those new to the field to transition smoothly to a new career. If you have been interested in Clinical Somatic Education before, but could not arrange your schedule to attend the traditional month-long sessions, we encourage you to take a good look at this convenient program. Class Structure

The program is conducted in three semesters. The first semester is approximately 150 hours in length; the second and third semester are each slightly shorter than this. In total, the training course consists of 500 hours of supervised in-class education.

The first semester will occur over three 4-day weekends and one 6-day "weekend". The second and third semester will each follow approximately 6-8 months afterwards, so students complete their full training in only 24 to 28 months.

Class hours are generally 8 AM to 6 or 7 PM, with a 1-2 hour lunch break. There are class meetings on some evenings (following a dinner break) before 9:00 PM. In developing the intensive training course format, experienced educators have taken great care to create a class schedule which allows for a comfortable, successful learning experience.

Class size is limited to maintain unparalleled, personalized, close supervision and interaction between students and all levels of faculty. The student:teacher ratio ranges from 10:1 to 4:1. Click here for information on the Training Team.

Application Process

There are a variety of options for completing your application, including completing an electronic template on a computer. You may also fill out a paper application and send it by postal mail. Application Deadlines and Fees

The Training Program offers rolling admissions and enrollment: Applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received, and accepted applicants are granted admissions on a first-come first-served basis. Furthermore, there is still a standard application deadline, so most students will apply as soon as possible before that deadline. Therefore, it is recommended that interested persons apply as soon as they are interested to take advantage of greater availability. Additionally, early action options are available for reduced fees. Click here to see application and admissions deadlines for the upcoming training class.

Please note that even though admissions is rolling, there are set application deadlines. While rolling admissions means you should apply to the program if you miss these deadlines, it is best to submit your application as soon as possible before the deadline,

On the other hand, rolling admissions also means if space is available after standard deadlines, qualified applicants still may be able to attend the program. In other words, if you are interested in the program at any time, we welcome and encourage your application!
