Somatic Systems, Inc. Announces First Annual Somatics Conference

NORTHAMPTON, MA — (Marketwire - July 08, 2009) — Somatic Systems, Inc. (SMAS - news) is proud to announce that it will hold its first Somatics Conference in the fall of 2009. The conference will be held from October 2-5, 2009 in Northampton, Massachusetts, home of Somatic Systems' national headquarters and training center.

The Somatics Conference will be the first of its kind, featuring workshops, seminars, and events for Somatic Systems' groundbreaking pain care management Clinical Somatics, with offerings for the general public, Somatics clinical practitioners, and other health care professionals. Until now, there have been conferences on pain care, as well as on movement therapies and other physical therapies that deal with chronic pain and injury. However, there has never been an event where Clinical Somatics is showcased internationally throughout a full course of scientific, clinical, educational, and experiential presentations.

In addition to continuing education and in-depth seminars for Somatics practitioners to advance their skills and professional careers, the conference will feature presentations for medical and other healthcare professionals educating them about the benefits of Clinical Somatics for their patients and practices. Additionally, Somatic Systems will offer a rich array of events and workshops of interest to the general public, to attract a wide audience to learn more about Somatics and enable newcomers to experience Somatics' powerful pain-relief, flexibility, relaxation, and athletic performance benefits.

The conference will cost approximately $1,000 per attendee, with discounts up to $500 for various Somatic Systems membership categories and members of the public. Certain individual events will be available for attendance ala carte or for free, enabling anyone from the general public or health professions to easily discover or learn more about Somatics, while also providing a substantive catalog of events for those audiences wishing to dig deeper or become highly involved with the field.

The Somatics Conference will be an annual event, to continue to increase awareness of Somatics to laypersons and professionals as the field expands. More information about the Somatics Conference can be found on Somatic Systems' website, http://somatics.org.
