Somatic Systems, Inc. Begins Accreditation Process for Masters and Doctoral Degrees

NORTHAMPTON, MA — (Marketwire - November 6, 2008) — Somatic Systems, Inc. (SMAS - news) is proud to announce it has begun the process to become the first accredited school of professional training in Clinical Somatics. Accreditation of Somatics Systems means that the school will be formally recognized as an institution of higher education and eligible to offer accredited academic degrees, such as Masters and Doctoral degrees.

Accreditation of an academic institution is conducted by a regional accreditation agency. For Somatic Systems' geographic region, that agency is the New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC). Somatics Systems has hired dedicated staff to conduct this important in-depth process.

Accreditation will be a significant move for company not only because of the great prestige in and of itself, but because Somatic Systems will be the only accredited degree-granting training program for Clinical Somatics worldwide.

From a business standpoint, offering accredited Masters and Doctoral degrees for study at their training programs is expected to prove highly lucrative for Somatic Systems. Masters programs of similar caliber, duration and content to Somatic Systems' Clinical Somatics training program earn $25,000 or more per student in tuition, due to the added value of students receiving an accredited Masters degree. Somatic Systems currently earns $12,000 per student in tuition. Granting the degree also increases enrollment in such schools, even when the school and program offered is relatively unknown.

Furthermore, in addition to the tremendous increase in reputation and credibility the degrees provide, offering graduate degrees at Somatic Systems' training school could dramatically increase market share for the company, to include those seeking training in related healthcare fields that desire an academic degree. For example, the most common reason a prospective student chooses a competitive training such as physical therapy or chiropractic is because those trainings grant Masters and Doctoral degrees upon graduation.
