Somatic Systems, Inc. Launches New Training Program and Promotional Tour

NORTHAMPTON, MA — (Marketwire - October 10, 2008) — Somatic Systems, Inc. (SMAS - news) is pleased to announce their upcoming new class of the Clinical Somatics Professional Training Program™. The class will begin June 20, 2009, and applications are already being accepted.

Students in the Professional Training Program are trained in Somatic Systems' proprietary Clinical Somatics pain management system. Graduates are qualified to work in clinical settings and exercise and training environments to help with chronic pain, injuries, and joint and muscle problems, as well as help athletes, dancers, and others to improve flexibility and physical strength, agility, and performance. Certification in Clinical Somatics also enables practitioners to work in any of Somatic Systems' clinic locations nationwide.

Somatic Systems Institute's Training Program is conducted over three semesters, totaling 500 hours, which are broken down into intensive 9-day modules to provide maximum flexibility. The innovative scheduling maximizes professional development in limited time, and simultaneously enables students to participate in the training while remaining in their current jobs or interning in a clinical setting such as Somatic Systems' clinics. Internships can accelerate the students' training process, enabling Somatic Systems to aggressively expand access to Somatics services as demand increases.

Somatic Systems has been engaged in ongoing discussions with the US military about providing their proprietary Clinical Somatics treatments to the entire population of service personnel, veterans, and dependents. With over 70 million people in this population, and with approximately half of all returning veterans reporting musculoskeletal pain-related problems and symptoms that are the specialties of Clinical Somatics, the company expects the need for their practitioners to grow exponentially in the coming year.

The Clinical Somatics Professional Training Program is Somatic Systems' highest revenue product, with a tuition price of $12,000 per student. Additionally, professional training students generate significant growth in consumer awareness and sales of Somatic Systems and the company's other products. Training enrollment has increased by approximately 50% each year since the program began. The company expects tuition prices and other revenue to increase as the program earns additional certifications and accreditations, including NCBTMB certification to enable national CEU credits for bodyworkers as well as Masters Program accreditation.

Leading up to the new training program, Somatic Systems is launching a national promotional tour. Faculty and other spokespeople for the training program will travel to strategic parts of the country to present educational workshops for prospective training students, including physical therapists, orthopedic physicians, chiropractors, and massage therapists. Workshops have been a highly successful strategy for recruiting new trainees and increasing enrollment.

The promotional appearances will further Somatic Systems' enhanced marketing campaigns and new branding efforts currently being launched by the company. These activities -- combined with the dramatically increased exposure of Somatic Systems through television and other media appearances scheduled for this fall as well as strategic high profile relationships -- are expected to grow the company's revenues and consumer presence considerably.

"There has never been a more exciting time to begin a career in Clinical Somatics. We are seeing awareness of Somatics increase like never before, and unprecedented opportunities arise for expansion worldwide. The world will need a wave of new practitioners to serve this growing demand, and we look forward to providing that," stated Somatic Systems CEO Steven Aronstein.
